1981
The 48 hour film project is one of the most interesting and exciting times of the year. In Scotland you can take part in it twice a year, Once in Edinburgh and once in Glasgow. There is no other project like it that can push you to be as creative and inventive as you can be and to do it all in 48 hours.
1981 was created for the 2015 Edinburgh 48 hour film project. As part of the project you are given certain things to include in the film. We were given a line of dialogue, “There is no way I am getting in there”, a prop which was an elastic band and a character called Miss Lemon and finally we were given a genre that was a period piece.
Period piece is the genre that everyone dreads. Luckily we just happened to have a great location which was a quarry. So after a while of thinking about what we could write we settled on the idea a mine closing down just at the start of the mining crisis. We managed to grab some costumes and boiler suites for our miners and the rest as they say is history.
