I grew up in Aberdeen, Scotland before moving down to Glasgow to go to the University of the West of Scotland to study Music Technology. The course focused on many aspects of sound design including the physics, studio production and design. I focused primarily on the film post production elements of the course and in my third year I chose to focus primly on that aspect.
This resulted in my final year project, which was an exploration of post-production techniques developed around the world. This culminated in the creation of four short films that highlighted the best aspects of four genres selected, for their importance to film, from around the world. The project was a success and I receive the Media Spec Prize for music technology for the highest graded project of the year and a first-class honours degree.
Working a freelance offline Editor, DIT and Data Wrangler, I have worked on productions ranging from local corporate films to full scale high end productions like Outlander and The Legend of Barney Thomson. Currently I work for STV in Glasgow as a Compilation producer, making two and a half hours of broadcast content a week.
Over the past couple of years, I have also worked with a local production team called the Glasgow Film Crew making shorts that have gone on to be shown in the Glasgow Short Film Festival and other festivals around the world.
